As a public face organisation it’s important for Tauranga City Council to engage the community on activities and projects that they care about.
My role was to develop the social media strategy and best practice for the communications team and wider organisation. Ensuring that the community was informed about council projects, services and kept up to date during emergency events.
Offering a seamless way for the community to interact with Tauranga City Council to:
• Inform – about activities in Tauranga
• Learn – about consultations /engagements
• Grow – building an exciting future for the city
• Entertain – showcasing why living in Tauranga is the best
• Shape narrative - being the news outlet
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the Tauranga City Council Social Media strategy and best practice for the council.
Manage the day to day channels, including content creation, scheduling and moderation.
Develop and execute Social Media specific engagement campaigns to the community. Including media spend forecasting, demographic and/or geographic targeting, customer journey tracking across digital channels.
Monthly reporting to ensure that our social posts go to right audiences and the council is are getting a great return on investment.
Results:
Increased reach by 3x times - 500k > 1.5m
Increased followers by 25%. 19k > 25k.
Kept advertising spend consistent, better results for the same costs.
